I teach! Both Transitional Kindergarten and Yoga. I also watch a lot of sports. A LOT.

How I Got To Family Preschool

I have been working with children on and off for almost 25 years. I fell in love with Project Based and Reggio about 4 years ago, and was looking at moving from a full time admin role to a part time teaching role when I found Family Preschool. Best teaching decision I ever made!

Interesting Fact

I have 7 kids aged 25 to 7, as well as 2 dogs and a cat! I am a gold medal (local competition!) winning powerlifter, and my husband's and my favorite past time is following around the band, Phish!

Most Important Teaching Lesson Learned

Our most important job as educators is to slow down, be present, and truly listen to the children; truly listen and ask open ended questions! That's how we all learn. (and to take really good notes!)

Favorite Movie

The Lord of the Rings Series (love the books, too!) The Odd Couple starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau has also been my favorite movie since I was little.

Favorite Book

Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Also, I love Llama Llama Holiday Drama by Anna Dewdney and When Sophie Gets Angry; Really, Really Angry by Molly Bang. Both of those books are really awesome for helping with big feelings!

What I Like About Working at Family Preschool

The awesome people-kiddos, parents, and staff!! I feel so lucky to be able to teach in such an inclusive, forward thinking environment that allows children and teachers the freedom to explore and learn in their own way.
